Country Residence, Jacobstowe
Architect: Robert Seymour Associates
Duration: 11 months
Value: £850,000
The works comprised the reconstruction of two dilapidated Grade II Listed buildings on a private Country Estate in Jacobstowe. The properties were rebuilt using a mixture of traditional materials such as locally sourced stone and cob blocks for the walls rendered with lime mortar and finished with a lime wash internally and externally. The roof was formed using oak trusses with a sandblasted and Danish oil finish, softwood rafters over and mixture of thatch, natural slate and powder coated profiled metal sheeting. Both buildings contained conservation roof lights, oak windows, engineered oak flooring to ground floor living areas and natural slate tiled kitchen floor. The Farmhouse contained a bespoke solid oak staircase and the Barn, a black powder coated steel spiral stair case. Both properties have been fitted out with traditional style kitchens and bathrooms and wood burning stoves to the living rooms.
